This is my experimental video page

This page contains several home video clips. The files are in the MPEG-1 format. The MPEG-1 format is chosen for better compatibility. Any Windows system with Media Player version 6 or later can play these files.

Instructions how to view video: download one of the files; locate the file using the Windows file explorer and click on it to open or start Media Player and use open file dialog to locate and open the file.

It is also possible to play these files just by clicking on the hyperlink. But it is not recommended unless you have very fast Internet connection. The recommended way is to download files and play them from local directory.

How these files were produced

I made the original video using Sony digital camera. Than I loaded the video onto computer and edited using Adobe Premiere and finally compressed to MPEG using LSX-MPEG encoder 3.0.

Although I could make MPEG-2 or MPEG-1, I prefer MPEG-1 for better compatibility, since MPEG-1 players are widely available for any system. The input picture was deinterlaced, scaled down to format 352x240, and colors corrected using Premiere. The files made using flexible LSX-MPEG encoder variable bit rate mode to achieve small file size with good picture quality.

Note that some MPEG-1 players do not play well variable bit rate video only streams. The multiplexed system stream with video and audio are generally play more robust by some software players.

I highly recommend using digital video camera for making original video. It makes lesser noise and easier to get video into computer without additional loss of quality.
